Padma Awards 2024 Winners

The Padma Awards, a bouquet of India's highest civilian honors, constitute a venerable tradition that has been woven into the fabric of the nation's identity since their inception in 1954.

These accolades—Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Shri—serve as beacons of recognition, illuminating the extraordinary contributions of individuals across diverse fields such as art, literature, science, public service, and sports

The Padma Awards are titled under Article 18(1) of the Indian Constitution.

Every year, the awards are announced on the occasion of Republic Day.

The President has accepted the conferral of 132 Padma Awards for the year 2024, including three pair instances (the Award is considered as one in a dual case), as shown in the list below. There are 5 Padma Vibhushans, 17 Padma Bhushan, and 110 Padma Shri Awards on the list.

30 of the recipients are women, while the list also contains eight foreigners/NRI/PIO/OCI and nine posthumous awardees.

The Padma Awards are bestowed by the President of India during ceremonial festivities held at Rashtrapati Bhawan in March or April of each year.
